The Spoonholder Café is our We Proudly Serve (WPS) location for Starbuck’s coffee and coffee and noncoffee drinks. To use the meal exchange option, you have four different choices:
- Option one is the pick 4 box lunch, including a sandwich and three other snacks or drinks.
- Option two is a small drip coffee, a cup of fruit, and a pastry.
- Option three is a medium drip coffee and either a pastry or cup of fruit.
- Option four is a medium sized drink from our selected Meal Exchange List.
The Mustang Grill is located in the lower level of the Olson Student Center.
- The Grill will open their gates at 10 am, but just the C-store area will be open.
- The Grill will open at 10:45 am, and both areas will run until 11 pm Monday – Thursday. Friday will be 10 am – 7 pm, closed Saturdays, and Sunday from 6 pm – 11 pm.
- The Mustang Grill has a meal exchange menu in a pick 3 format.

We are offering coffee from Seattle’s Best along with their Teavana line of cold and hot teas. We also have cold brew coffee made fresh in house.
-
If you are the holder of either 14 or 19 meals per week you can only swipe your card once per meal period.
- You have 10 guest meals per semester on your account. These guest meals are for you to use at your discretion. Just keep in mind that once they are gone this semester they will not replenish until the start of the next semester.
-
All weekly or block meal plans have 5 meal exchanges that can be used in any of our locations on campus.
- There are no restrictions on when you can use these. If you use a swipe in the cafeteria and then go down to the Mustang Grill right afterwards you can use the meal exchange in that same meal period.
As a reminder we are here to help make Morningside University feel like home for you, so please be courteous to the staff and fellow students when you are dining in any of the facilities on campus.
Flex / Dollars
Flex Points are additional monies which are on your ID card and can be used in all our locations. They are included with the meal plans and more can be added at any time by contacting the business office.
Meal Card
Selection of a Campus Dining Services Meal Plan entitles you to a Meal Card, which allows you purchasing power equivalent to the plan you have selected. Here is how it works: in order to use your meal plan at the Wikert Dining Room, Mustang Grill, or the Spoonholder Cafe , you must have your meal card (Campus I.D. card) available with you. Entry into the Wikert Dining Room or purchases at the Mustang Grill and Spoonholder Cafe will not be permitted without your meal card. Meal cards are not transferable.
